Coaching – Your Journey of Infinite Growth

From the moment of conception – we start to grow infinitely – if we wish to of course. So, why do we struggle so much to adapt to change, why do we resist change so fervently if we have the ability to grow infinitely? The thing is – it is a personal mindset and a choice that we make daily, in every situation we face.

Fast-forward to how the brain influences our lives. It works non-stop to create habits for anything that can be repeated to save energy to process new information. So the saying “Old habits die hard” makes perfect sense. Once a habit is programmed into our grey matter, it takes insight, effort, and a decision to change it. While some believe it is virtually impossible to ‘erase’ an old habit from one’s memory bank, it is easier to create a new habit than you might think.

How I help my clients to grow infinitely is to design and facilitate workshops and to use brain-based coaching to help you create the life that you want. It could be to learn more about how to:

  • identify and break down communication barriers;
  • improve teamwork;
  • become more effective and efficient;
  • to set and pursue personal goals; or
  • to change habits that are holding you back.

I help delegates and clients to identify areas to action to bring about positive change. Once the need for change is identified we go to work to draft a plan of action to move forward – whether you are attending a workshop that I facilitate or during coaching conversations.

Every workshop and every coaching conversation is directed at achieving the organisation’s or the client’s needs. It’s all about YOU, the client. Be it to align with the organisational goals or with your personal goals. The focus and attention are always directed at YOU, the client.

The Value of Coaching

Prior to enrolling for the Brain-based Leadership Coaching certificate have I never, in my wildest dreams, considered contracting a personal coach, so, why should you? Enrolling for a formal workshop was always a no-brainer to me, yet coaching was never, but never, on my radar. Coaching helped me to view situations from various perspectives – breaking free from my ‘tunnel vision’ that I’ve embraced for so many years. It also allowed me to generate various options to deal with the difficulties I faced and it felt as though I was regaining control of my life. The sheer joy I experienced, once I reached a goal, energised me to actively work towards the next. Now, to me, coaching has also become a no-brainer – an essential part of my journey.

The fact that you’re on this page, already says you want more for yourself. This illustration gives a snapshot of why coaching is a worthwhile investment in an individual’s life and for an organisation, as adapted from an interview with Heidi Hamilton (2018).

Think about it, if you’re struggling with any of the following, coaching could be just the right fit for you:

  • Feeling ‘stuck’ – like your life has been ‘hovering’ in auto-mode for too long.
  • Avoiding situations that are too overwhelming which in turn creates anxiety.
  • Considering your future as being dim and uncertain which you prefer not to think about.
  • Being frustrated with yourself as you realise how much time and energy you are wasting on insignificant activities.
  • Lacking a clear vision and goalposts for where you want to be three weeks from now, three months from now, three years from now.
  • Suffering from an inability to voice your opinion that is boycotting your progress in your career or hampered relationships.
  • Feeling frustrated by people who ‘force’ their agendas onto you, making you feel ‘used’ as you realise how your needs are pushed aside.
  • Realising, deep down, that you have a ‘negative’ attitude towards your life and your circumstances.
  • Struggling with habits that are blocking your breakthroughs.
  • Suffering from burnout, realising this is not the way to go.
